In this hands-on workshop, teachers and administrators of all grade levels and subjects will learn how to use visual language and digital storytelling as a creative, technology-infused path to engage student learning. Through experiential lessons, participants will learn to shoot, plan edit and critique film and make connection to their curricula.
ALC is program for classroom teachers and students, presenting methods for integrating arts-based teaching in core curricular areas, consisting of a six-week residency in Dance, Music, Theatre, or Visual Arts, with classroom demonstrations, coaching and collaborative curriculum planning sessions, and an in-service workshop.
Teachers will be trained in a method of literacy intervention that uses the arts in a focused and intentional way to help students expand vocabulary, increase reading comprehension, and build reading fluency. It provides an alternative to traditional intervention methods and can be used with ALL students providing new levels of equity and access

Speaking Shakespeare is a course dedicated to the study of Shakespeare's text through detailed analysis. Called "scansion," textual analysis allows participants to delve deeply into the meter and verse format, thereby illuminating meaning through the understanding of vocal delivery, metaphor, alliteration, repetition, and original words coined.

By the end of the first session, teachers will understand how to create a dance for and with their students. Our basic CREATING A DANCE PD is $600 and includes an interactive 45' on your feet workshop with Louise Reichlin and 2-3 dancers + 30' discussion and Q&A using Study Guide (included) and how to integrate into the classroom.
